The
universal solution to the automatization of the soft-drink production
process is found in the BAS01 Measurement System which not only
analyzes the product on the line, but also performs automatic control,
recording, remote control, data collection and processing functions.
The IB01 analysis system includes:
-
IB01 analysis unit
- Brix controller (field)
- CO2
controller (field)
- Recorder or printer for data collection (field)
- Remote display
- Remote control and MULTILAB III
- Data acquisition
IB01
Analysis Unit
The IB01 Analysis Unit includes:
A) UR12 Refractometric Analyzer
B) UCA2 Carbometric Analyzer
C) sealed, stainless steel control panel
D) circulating pump
E) hydraulic circuit (piping)
All components are interconnected and mounted on a self-supporting stainless
steel frame. The hydraulic circuit has quick-coupling tri-clamps. The
unit is designed to detect sugar or sweetener concentration levels and
CO2
content of the product being analyzed, alert the operator and transmit
the relevant data to the remote control or data acquisition systems.
Brix
Controller
The Brix control is customized for the type of soft drink production
plant in which it is installed. Normally, two different systems may be
used:
a) Dosing using dosing pumps
b) Orifice regulation
In the first case, the controller drives a motor and regulates the position
of the dosing pump head; in the second it controls the position of the
flow regulation valves. The Brix controller can receive the parameters
of the soft drink to be produced from either the IB-01 analysis unit or
the remote MULTILAB control unit located in the laboratory, always with
the 40 programmable recipes system.
CO2
Controller
The CO2
controller can be made in two different systems:
a) injection CO2
controller
b) saturation CO2
controller
In the first case, a flow transmitter measures CO2
flow rate in the feed pipe and the controller keeps this constant using
an electro-pneumatic translator that drives a pressure reducer. In the
second, a pressure sensor located on the product tank detects CO2
pressure and the controller keeps this constant driving an electro-pneumatic
translator that controls the pressure reducer. In both systems, the controller
flow rate or pressure setpoint value is "cascade" modified by
the IB01 that reads the CO2
value of the finished product.
Recorder
or Printer
In order to collect the data read by the analysis units, either a
continuous-form analog recorder or serial printer can be installed in
the field. The printer, driven by dedicated software, print out the results
in graphic and numeric form.
Remote
Display
To complete the BAS01 System, a display that shows the Brix and CO2
degree values as well as the alarm status is available. The remote display
is useful when the measuring devices are located in positions not visible
to the operator.
Remote
Control and MULTILAB III data acquisition software
The production line can be run from the laboratory using the MULTILAB
III remote control unit which, thanks to a two-way serial connection with
the IB04 unit, functions as a remote terminal in the lab, allowing to
monitor and modify all functions. The system can communicate with 8 different
units located on various lines. The MULTILAB III data acquisition section
displays production data in graphic form, gives current values and alarm
status for each line and creates job reports that can be printed out and
consulted at a later date using the standard programs in the MULTILAB
III or specific customer software.
